Timeless and immobile, the limestone peaks of the Dolomites sit motionless. They move for nothing and no one. The immense power of that stillness is shown through the saturated dark blues and greens in this large work. In contrast, the full-blooded redness of the sky looms over the mountains as if raging against the stubborn inflexibility of the rocks below.
