The remote location and its inaccessibility perch among jagged rocks make this temple a fortress of solitude. It tells the world that its inhabitants want privacy beyond all else. Yet the colorful prayer flags radiate into the foreground as if they are jumping off the canvas. Why should they call so much attention to the temple, if seclusion is the biggest and only prize?
