The Somei Yoshino cherry blossom are most often associated with Japan and Washington, our nation’s capital. The flowers with their pink centers and white pedals bloom unabashedly in March, and they are some of the earliest harbingers for spring. The central blossom in this work offers hope that the gloom of winter is nearly over, and that another year of color, warmth and life itself is about to begin.
