A Memory

$1,499.00

Painting, oil on canvas, 20/16

Seen from the point of view of a young child, while holding the hand of an adult, our assumption is that our “protagonist” is remembering a walk on a snowy night. But before this idea is even fully formed, questions appear. How distant is the memory? Is our protagonist very old? Who is the adult in the scene? Can we assume it’s the father? And then the next layer of questions emerge: why were they walking that night? is this memory real? Did this walk happen? Or is it a Freudian wish-fulfillment?
